Rich D.
Private tutor in Fort Collins, CO
Education
I have a BS, MS in psychology from BSU. My ultimate degree was PhD in Molecular Cell Biology, and a 4 year postdoctoral fellowship emphasizing Molecular Neurobiology @ UGA. The department that I took my postdoc in was in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry.
Experience
I have taken all the core biology classes as an undergraduate and graduate student, tutoring for 15 + years, I tutored as an undergraduate and graduate student. I have received several awards and accommodations for teaching including undergraduate Biology 1101L which necessitated I know the textbook to help students. I have a BS, MS in psychology, so I know a lot about the process of learning and memory formation, consolidation, and test taking, etc In brief, a divorce, my love of my daughter, and circumstances is why I am looking to make secondary monies via tutoring AND because I truly love to learn and help others learn. I have letters I will provide from faculty and students extolling my skills and teaching per your request. Teaching hard to get courses such as Transmission Electron Microscopy, Neurobiology, Statistics, which are hard for most everyone. I love biology with a passion and have published over 15 papers in biology and biochemistry but once my daughter was born, I decided that working 80 + hours a week which I loved then, was not what I now wanted. Therefore, I feel that you have a wonderful opportunity, because as a Doctor I have taught over 16 classes/ labs, and never had a bad rating. Because of my energy and willingness students knew that I would do whatever I could to ensure they learned what they needed.
